Youth media brand Vice Media Group is opening a new MEA (Middle East & Africa) HQ in Saudi Arabia this month. The company says that the new office in Riyadh’s JAX cultural district “will help expand Vice’s footprint in the region while bolstering relationships with key partners in the Saudi Kingdom.”

Vice Media Group has been active in the Middle East since 2017, where its team has produced and distributed content focused on culture, lifestyle and entertainment across multiple languages including Arabic, Farsi, Urdu and English. The new HQ will “offer clients production capabilities including a podcast studio, editing suites and a soundstage.”

Vice global chief marketing officer Nadja Bellan-White said: “We’re excited to be expanding our commitment to youth culture around the world with our new regional headquarters in the thriving JAX District of Riyadh. With such a youthful population in Saudi Arabia and throughout the region, Vice is in a prime position to make a difference for our partners to help them reach audiences in a culturally relevant way.”

Launched in 1994, Vice has offices in cities across the globe with a focus on five key businesses: Vice.com; Vice Studios; Vice TV, its news division and Virtue, a global, full-service creative agency. The VMG portfolio also includes Refinery29, a leading global media and entertainment company focused on women. Other brands in the Vice stable include i-D, an iconic fashion and youth culture magazine which has transitioned successfully into social. In 2022, i-D saw its revenues double after a major push into vertical video for social platforms including Instagram Reels and TikTok.
