TellyCast, the leading international TV industry podcast and events business (and owner of The Drop), has unveiled plans for a dedicated Buyers Lounge at this year’s edition of the Digital Content Forum (November 7th, BFI Southbank).
Entitled The Bridge, the ground-breaking initiative will provide a platform for distributors, networks and investors to meet with delegates from leading digital first studios, creators and each other.
Companies already signed up to take part include A+E, UKTV, BBC Studios, ITV Studios, Blue Ant Media, Abacus Rights, Eccho Rights and Little Dot Studios. Digital Content Forum stalwart Quintus Studios has also come on board as inaugural sponsor.
TellyCast founder Justin Crosby said: “Through events like the Digital Content Forum and The Bridge, I’m committed to helping stimulate growth for digital-first studios and content creators. Networking opportunities like this are becoming increasingly vital as the worlds of digital content and traditional TV continue to merge and evolve.”
Crosby said the idea for The Bridge grew out of digital-first deal-making at previous editions of the TellyCast Digital Content Forum. “Three digital-first shows have been commissioned or invested in following their appearance in our content pitch showcase ‘The Drop’. This leads me to believe that there is a host of emerging opportunities for networks, distributors, and content creators to collaborate on new IP and existing catalogue opportunities. I think we’ve entered an exciting new phase where companies are keen to explore new financial models – be they digital, linear or a hybrid of the two.”
TellyCast Digital Content Forum speakers, panels and sponsors are being confirmed every week in the run up to the November event and will be covered on The Drop website. Super Early Bird tickets are now on sale and for a limited period a Studio package is available, offering 5 tickets for the price of 4 at the cheapest rate.
