Digital-first production company Studio B has kickstarted the search for a head of business development. The North London-based firm, which creates a mix of long form and short form content for social platforms, is targeting a mid-to-senior level executive who can help the fast-growing company expand its portfolio of brand clients.
Studio B founder and CEO Brandon Baum, who has 7.8m subscribers across social platforms, told The Drop: “We’ve already established a great roster of clients including Disney, Paramount, Adidas and Sky, but we see huge growth potential as brands from other industry sectors seek to establish a presence on platforms like TikTok and YouTube. We want to hire someone who can spearhead our expansion in this area.”
Under his creator name BrandonB, Baum has established a popular line of short form VFX-based videos. But he says: “Our dedicated North London studio is equipped to produce a wide array of branded content and campaigns for brands. We’ve developed some long form entertainment formats and done an increasing amount of work with AR filters. We’re a good fit for brands trying to build an authentic social presence – and we need a business-oriented executive to get that message out there.”
Baum says he is not being prescriptive about the kind of person who could fill the role. “We want to open up a creative dialogue with would-be candidates and see where that takes us. The new hire could be someone already established in social media but equally it could be someone who is looking to migrate their business development skills from related industries like TV and gaming. But we do see it as an influential role with the scope to have a real impact on the direction the studio is heading.”
Baum formed StudioB in late 2022, with the goal of developing original digital-first formats and content for brands. Currently, the company operates out of a 5,000 sq metre studio based in Mill Hill, with Baum working alongside a team of 12 in-house VFX artists, producers, writers, production designers and editors.
