Spotify chief gives “shoutout” to creators boosted by new Partner Program

Spotify founder Daniel Ek is claiming instant success for the global podcast platform’s recently introduced Partner Program, which was introduced in January 2025 to help video creators generate more money and extend their reach on the platform.

Speaking via X, Ek said: “Since launching in January, video podcast views are up more than 20% and hundred of podcasters are now making $10k a month (and some of the biggest ones are pulling in 10x that). That’s a 300% growth in Spotify payouts and creators year over year. Shoutout to all podcasters experimenting with new formats and reaching new fans.”

Spotify used its Now Playing event in November 2024 to flag up a new series of offerings aimed at helping creators better monetise their video podcasts. Pride of place went to the Spotify Partner Program, which was initially accessible by creators in the US, Canada, Australia, and the UK. Creators in the Program earn a share of revenue every time an ad (monetised by Spotify) plays in an episode on and off the platform.
