MQube-backed mortgage provider MPowered Mortgages has launched a new consumer-facing series on YouTube designed to demystify mortgages for borrowers.
Called On The House, the series is hosted by BBC presenter and personal finance expert Martyn James. Across the series, it will feature guests including Instagram influencer Ola Majekodunmi, and Sarah Tucker from The Mortgage Mum.
Episode One dropped on YouTube at the end of last week and set out the nuts and bolts of applying for a mortgage. From, “how big does my deposit need to be?” or “what is a mortgage chain?” to “what is conveyancing?, the series promises to answer “all the questions you’ve always wanted to ask”.
The first episode featured Stuart Cheetham, CEO and founder of MPowered Mortgages, which counts the likes of Barclays, Citi and M&G among its financial backers. He told James: “The whole aim of (the MPowered business) is to allow borrowers to get a mortgage as fast and as simple as they can get car insurance.”
The news of the series was reported in specialist financial publication The Intermediary. In that report, Cheetham said: “Whilst we are a broker only lender, it is crucial we continue to engage consumers in our brand with the end goal being that they think of MPowered when they embark on their mortgage journey.”
