LADbible launches dedicated SPORTbible YouTube channel

Digital first content creator LADbible has launched a new SPORTbible YouTube channel. Unveiled on Tuesday September 10th via a LinkedIn post, the new channel has around 5,000 subscribers and 189 videos at time of writing.

At launch, LADbible said the new channel will feature “original shows such as Agree to Disagree and Find the Fake Fan, as well as the biggest sports talent such as Bukayo Saka, David Beckham and KSI; all for our community looking for a slice of the action off the pitch and the chance to connect with like-minded sports fans.”

At launch, the channel is heavily skewed towards football and is primarily made up of archive content that has already appeared across LADbible’s existing channels. For example, the first episode of Find The Fake Fan dropped five months again and has so far clocked up almost one million views. Similarly, Agree To Disagree is a long running franchise, the most recent episode dropping around two weeks ago before the Liverpool vs Manchester United Premier League clash.

At this stage, it is not clear how much dedicated investment in original programming that the group is planning for the new channel.  However there is no question that sport is viewed as key audience grabber right now. While most content genres have been hit by budget cuts in the last year, sports rights have been in strong demand, with streamers like Netflix, Amazon Prime, Apple TV+ and YouTube all exploring opportunities. Similarly, the Paris 2024 Summer Olympics was regarded as a breakthrough moment in terms of influencer activity around the event.
