LADBible hires Champion as chief business officer

LADbible Group has announced the appointment of Simon Champion as its new chief business officer. Champion, the former CEO of BOXPARK, has been tasked with “driving the company’s growth agenda, optimising operations and expanding revenue streams to establish it as a leading global entertainment powerhouse for young adults.”

Reporting directly to Solly Solomou, CEO and founder of LADbible Group, Champion will play a central role in shaping the group’s strategic vision and supporting the executive team to ensure the group’s continued success. Commenting on his appointment, he said: “LADbible Group is at a pivotal point in its journey, driven by its rapid global expansion. I’m thrilled to join the team and build on the incredible work achieved so far. Together with a talented leadership team, I look forward to accelerating the company’s growth and elevating LBG to even greater heights.”

 Solomou added: “Simon’s extensive experience and proven ability to scale and transform businesses will be invaluable in driving our growth strategy. His leadership and expertise perfectly align with our vision to strengthen our foundation and drive ambitious growth in the digital media space.”

Champion spent seven years tenure at next-gen food and retail park BOXPARK, where he held key leadership roles before being promoted to CEO. His prior experience also includes senior positions at Propercorn and easyHotel plc.

Announcing his arrival at the company, Champion shared some current data about the company. He said the group reaches a worldwide audience of 503 million followers, including 143 million in the US. “Every second, our platforms generate 3,800 views and 288 engagements,” he added. “Last year we amassed 127 billion views. We publish an average of 321 videos daily, seven days a week. In the UK, we engage half of all adults and two-thirds of 18-34 year-olds every month.”
