Talent agency Gleam Futures has announced two high-profile signings to its roster of digital content creators and influencers: motorsport expert Lissie Mackintosh, best known for her profile in Formula One, and podcast creators Sephy & Wing, creators of the ‘Goes Without Saying’ pod.
The Lissie Mackintosh signing was announced by Gleam Futures senior talent manager Robyn Tyrer, who said “one of the rising female stars in motorsport, (Lissie) is taking the industry by storm”. Describing her as a “Formula One content creator, presenter, podcast host & change maker for the representation of women in sport”, Tyrer said Mackintosh currently has around “half a million followers across her platforms and rising”.
Mackintosh regularly presents in the Formula 1 paddock, interviewing and collaborating with the likes of Charles Leclerc, Lando Norris, Carlos Sainz & The Jonas Brothers. “Her portfolio of recent collaborations includes Shell x Scuderia Ferrari, Formula E, PUMA Group, Quadrant and HSBC,” added Tyrer.
Despite her strong links to the sport, Mackintosh has commented on F1’s need for greater diversity and gender balance. In an interview with Sky Sports, she said one of the toughest aspects of her job has been derogatory “stay in the kitchen” style comments from social media trolls. She told Sky Sport: “Ultimately, the kind of hateful comments says more about them than me. I use them to fuel me and there are so many girls now who look up to me, and I feel responsible to put all those hateful and nasty comments aside and just remind myself there is something bigger here.”
The Sephy & Wing signing was revealed by Gleam Futurse talent manager Natalie Amos who said: “Thrilled to welcome Sephy & Wing to my roster. They have generated a loyal and dedicated female listenership across their podcast with over 2.5m downloads. I cannot wait to work with (Gleam Futures’) Freya Noakes to help develop their social and sponsorship opportunities, as well as take the show live.”
