YouTube creator Andrew Desbordes (aka Druski) has enjoyed a strong start for his comedy-dating hybrid Coulda Been Love. Launched ahead of Valentine’s Day on his YouTube channel, the first one-hour episode has drawn an audience of 11m so far. The second episode, released just before the weekend, is now up to 6.3m views.

The show, which trades off Druski’s social stardom, sees a diverse group of women invited to a huge mansion where they compete raucously to date their host – while also trying to win a $50,000 prize. While the format resembles classic TV dating shows, complete with elimination mechanic, it also has an edgy comedic quality that fans of Druski will be familiar with from his previous content.

Druski (pictured during episode 2 of Coulda Been Love) has built a strong following on both Instagram, where he has 9 million followers, and YouTube, where he has 2.8m subscribers. Having made his mark with comedy sketches, he has now proved he can win audiences with long form content.

At present Druski is dropping an episode a week of Coulda Been Love. The overall series is expected to run for eight or nine episodes. The show is sponsored by telehealth company Ro, which is valued at around $6-7bn, and recently launched two erectile dysfunction medications – Daily Rise gummies and Sparks.
