BBC Studios Audio is looking for a video and digital content lead to help it take advantage of the boom in video podcasting. Putting out the call, BBCS Audio commercial and business development director Helen Pendlebury (pictured)  said: “We’re growing our team at BBC Studios Audio, and are looking for a great digital content pro to help us visualise our podcasts across digital and social platforms.”

The job is a full-time role that involves supporting BBC Studios podcast production teams in “developing and producing social-first video content that extends the reach of our podcasts via fully visualised episodes and short form clips and digital assets.”

The role will act as “the editorial lead for one or more social media accounts within BBC Studios Audio, delivering a coherent, consistent social media experience for audiences, ensuring each account delivers on the agreed social strategy, maximises engaged reach with the account’s target audiences, delivers content of the highest creative quality, delivers commercial objectives for sponsors and advertisers and drives traffic around the BBC Studios Audio commercial portfolio.”

The chosen candidate would be expected to produce longform visual episodes of podcasts and digital video assets for use across social media platforms. They would also need to “engage with talent, influencers and brands to drive social engagement”.

The job description said this is a key commercial role working with production teams that deliver a wide range of content, from impactful investigative serials such as To Catch A Scorpion and Things Fell Apart; long running prestige Radio 4 series such as Desert Island Discs and In Our Time; and an extensive slate comedy and drama.
