Athena Witter, the former Vice President of Digital Content & Programming at BBC Studios, has launched Engine Pop, a new consultancy designed to help entertainment brands navigate the increasingly complex digital content landscape.
With extensive experience in digital media, Witter has worked on the development and commercialisation of intellectual property for major entertainment companies. She has been instrumental in launching and expanding content and commercial propositions for globally recognised brands, including The X Factor, Britain’s Got Talent, The Voice, Love Island, the MTV EMAs & Swatch partnership, and the award-winning children’s series Bluey.
“Where entertainment meets innovation is more than a tagline—it’s a commitment to clients looking for breakthrough solutions in today’s fast-moving media ecosystem,” said Witter. “I want to help organisations transform how they connect with audiences while ensuring their IP is working harder for them.”
The consultancy will focus on both internal business transformation and external value creation, helping brands refine their digital strategies while building stronger connections with audiences. Witter’s expertise includes audience-first content development, licensing frameworks, and monetisation strategies that turn engagement into commercial success.
Now accepting new clients, Witter is particularly interested in working with established brands, startups, and companies within the creator economy. “With my network of associates, I’m ready to help businesses of all sizes develop meaningful digital experiences that not only build communities but also generate long-term value,” she said.
