Footasylum has launched a new dating show on its YouTube channel called Tick or Ick. The show continues the brand’s successful foray into original entertainment content, which has helped it build a following of 2.9 million subscribers.
Hosted by Harry Pinero and Kaci-Jay, the first episode of Tick or Ick was released on February 2nd and generated over 52k views in its first 24 hours.
The series was produced by Cowshed Collective, which has worked with Footasylum on previous original series including Locked In, which has run for multiple seasons.
Setting up the first episode, Pinero explained that “we’ll be helping one lonely heart find their soulmate out of ten potential suitors”. Through a series of ‘get to know’ rounds, the suitors found out more about the lonely heart. If they got the ick, they hit their buzzer. But there was the option to change their mind if they had a change of heart.
Episode one saw Charlie from Hertfordshire try to wow 10 attractive young women with his patter. Eight of them weren’t impressed with his edgy banter, but the final round saw two contestants vying for his attention. Charlie then chose Courtney, a 23-year old who works in social media and is a nail technician.
