ITV’s Fresh Cuts celebrates Disability History Month

by | Nov 19, 2024 | News

ITV is marking Disability History Month with a series of short form productions available to stream on ITVX and through ITV’s YouTube Channel. The series will see Molly Dennis, Richard Walker, and Stephanie Symington-Kurth make their producer/director debuts, under the banner of ITV’s new talent strand Fresh Cuts. Overseeing the strand is ITV-owned label MultiStory Media.

Titles include food series Takeaway or Fakeaway and Unfiltered Women, a new chat show featuring three outspoken disabled women. Also on the slate is Date My Nan, which sees disabled make up artists glam up a Nan and send her on a blind date.

Also new for Disability History Month 2024, diverse-led indie Gold Wala has produced Evil Escapes, which follows comedians Lee “Lost Voice Guy” Ridley, Jamie MacDonald, and Eshaan Akbar as they tackle the world with wit and grit, each bringing a unique perspective shaped by their experiences with disability.
