BBC Studios and Joe Sugg’s Final Straw Productions have launched what they are calling “the world’s most honest dating show” on YouTube. Entitled Date Me At My Worst, the social experiment-based show is hosted by TikTok star Max Balegde.
The premise of Date Me At My Worst is that it often takes time for people to find out the worst traits of new partners. In this show, singles go on a group date where they show off their best side, but also reveal their worst characteristics from the outset.
Joe Sugg, founder of Final Straw Productions, said: “We’re really excited about this space, testing out formatted ideas online to get instant feedback from the audience to help shape formats into the best they can be. It’s a new collaborative way of creating content and working with and helping discover the future stars of tomorrow.”
Sumi Connock, creative director, global entertainment, BBC Studios said: “We are delighted to be working with the hugely talented Max Belegde and the brilliant creative team at Final Straw on this fresh & fun approach to dating”.
The Date Me At My Worst format (pictured) is part of an alliance formed between BBC Studios and Final Straw Productions in 2022. At the time, BBC said Final Straw would “focus on developing entertainment and factual entertainment formats for audiences of all ages. The development, production, and distribution deal will give BBC Studios a first-look on all its content.”
