Warner Bros. Discovery claims that audiences will be immersed in the Paris Summer Olympic Games “like never before” this summer as a new collaboration between the US media giant and YouTube is set to bring the event to a diverse set of fans, expanding the reach of WBD-owned Eurosport’s live coverage into digital first territory.

The new partnership will see a group of YouTube creators based in the heart of the city to produce new content, expanding the reach of the Olympics across Europe. They include Jakidale, Rick Azas, Underrated Hijabi, Robbie Lyle, Meryem Can, Gabinouvilla, Agnieszka Grzelak Vlog, Paul Ferrer Z and Karina and Marina.

Exclusive content will be captured from unique in-stadium positions, Paris’ iconic Olympic venues and at WBD House – WBD’s rooftop studio in the heart of the city where Eurosport will host its live shows. Alongside this, other short and long formats will include video diaries from around the city itself. In addition to the creator content, fans will be able to watch live streams of the Opening and Closing Ceremonies on Eurosport’s YouTube channel, as well as extensive highlights and original Olympic features published in multiple languages each day.

Scott Young, group SVP content, production and business operations at WBD Sports Europe, said: “Partnering with YouTube and its network of much-loved content creators presents a new opportunity to further expand our Olympic storytelling while enhancing our world-class live coverage in the process. We want everyone to be part of this historic sporting spectacle and we can’t wait to bring exciting new formats to viewers all across Europe which we know will engage new and old fans.”

Rob Pilgrim, head of sports at YouTube Europe, Middle East and Africa, added: “Through this partnership, Warner Bros. Discovery is catering for the needs of young sports fans by providing never seen before angles to the Games while at the same time building alternative ways to grow their business.”
